In Saturday's non-league outing, the Newton Rams (Covington, GA) basketball squad felled the host Alcovy Tigers (Covington, GA), by a margin of 40-21.

The Rams (1-1) will now prepare for their outing against Heritage (Conyers, GA). The Patriots go into the outing with a 2-3 record.

The Tigers now own a 2-3 record. They play next when they host Rockdale County for a non-league outing on Wednesday, December 14. Alcovy will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 50-21 non-league win over Woodland (Stockbridge, GA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 3-0.
