Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Newton Rams (Covington, GA) and the host Alcovy Tigers (Covington, GA), saw Newton's basketball squad hold off Alcovy by a tally of 40-38.

With the victory, Newton improves its record to 3-0 on the campaign. The Rams travel to Salem (Conyers, GA) to confront the Seminoles in a challenge on Wednesday, December 14. The Seminoles come into the challenge with a record of 3-3.
