December 10, 2024: Monroe, GA 30656 The East Jackson Eagles (Commerce, GA) basketball edged the host Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes (Monroe, GA), 46-45 in Tuesday's non-league bout.
The Eagles now possess a 4-5 record. They play next when they host Monsignor Donovan Catholic for a non-league bout on Friday, December 13. East Jackson will play a Rams team coming off a 63-37 non-league win over Old Suwanee Christian (Buford, GA). The Rams record now stands at 2-3.
With the loss, Monroe Area falls to 1-5 on the campaign. The Purple hurricanes travel to Winder-Barrow (Winder, GA) to play the Bulldoggs in a non-league bout on Friday, December 13. The Bulldoggs go into the bout with a record of 8-2. Winder-Barrow lost 80-77 in their recent league bout against Habersham Central (Mt. Airy, GA)
