December 10, 2024: Walnut Cove, NC 27052 The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Surry Central Golden Eagles (Dobson, NC) and the host South Stokes Sauras (Walnut Cove, NC), observed Surry Central's basketball team overwhelm South Stokes by a score of 58-17.
The Golden Eagles (2-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Wilkes Central (Wilkesboro, NC). The Eagles come into the non-league challenge with a 1-0 record. In their last challenge, Wilkes Central trounced Newton-Conover (Newton, NC), 27-23, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Sauras encounter the Alleghany Trojans (Sparta, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, December 13. South Stokes will attempt to improve on its 1-2 season record. The Trojans come into the challenge with a 1-0 record after their 33-17 non-league win over Grayson County (Independence, VA).
