North Carolina High School Basketball - Ascend Leadership overwhelmed by Chatham Central

December 10, 2025: Sanford, NC 27332

In Wednesday's non-league test, the Chatham Central Bears (Bear Creek, NC) basketball squad trounced the host Ascend Leadership Aviators (Sanford, NC), by a score of 75-44.

Next, the Bears clash with the North Stokes Vikings (Danbury, NC) in a Greater Triad 1A/2A test, on Friday, December 12. Chatham Central will attempt to improve on its 6-2 season record. The Vikings go into the bout with a 1-4 record after their 74-65 non-league win over Bethany Community (Summerfield, NC).

With the loss, Ascend Leadership falls to 2-6 on the campaign. The Aviators travel to Holly Springs (Holly Springs, NC) to play the Golden Hawks in a non-league bout on Friday, December 12. The Golden Hawks go into the bout with a record of 1-4. Holly Springs lost 87-45 in their recent non-league bout against Apex Friendship (Apex, NC)
