The North Buncombe Black Hawks (Weaverville, NC) basketball were winner over the visiting Pisgah Bears (Canton, NC), 81-65 in Wednesday's non-league bout.

The Black Hawks now possess a 5-2 record. They play next when they travel to South Point for a non-league bout on Friday, December 12. North Buncombe will play a Red Raiders team coming off a 61-59 non-league loss to Forest Hills (Marshville, NC). The Red Raiders record now stands at 1-4.

With the defeat, Pisgah moves to 2-2 on the season. The Bears host Smoky Mountain (Sylva, NC) to encounter the Mustangs in a Mountain Eight 4A/5A test on Friday, December 12. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 6-1. Smoky Mountain won 78-51 in their recent non-league bout against Erwin (Asheville, NC)
