The Cheyenne Desert Shields basketball squad (North Las Vegas, NV), was crushed 54-18 in Wednesday's non-league battle with the host Canyon Springs Pioneers (North Las Vegas, NV)

With the victory, Canyon Springs advances its record to 4-5 on the year. The Pioneers travel to Sunrise Mountain (Las Vegas, NV) to meet the Miners in a 4A Desert battle on Tuesday, January 7. The Miners enter the battle with a record of 1-4.

The Desert Shields now own a 1-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Valley for a 4A Sky battle on Thursday, December 12. Cheyenne will meet a Vikings squad coming off a 50-24 league win over Bonanza (Las Vegas, NV). The Vikings record now stands at 4-1.
