December 12, 2024: Morrison, IL 61270 Galena Pirates (Galena, IL) supporters left the game happy Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the host Morrison Mustangs (Morrison, IL), 59-52 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Galena advances its record to 6-2 on the year. The Pirates travel to Eastland (Lanark, IL) to meet the Cougars in a non-league match on Saturday, December 14. The Cougars enter the match with a record of 4-0. Eastland won 55-42 in their recent non-league match against Newman Central Catholic (Sterling, IL)
The Mustangs now own a 4-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Erie-Prophetstown for a non-league match on Friday, December 13. Morrison will meet a Panthers squad coming off a 36-32 league win over Kewanee (Kewanee, IL). The Panthers record now stands at 2-3.
