The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Shannon Red Raiders (Shannon, MS) and the visiting Mooreville Troopers (Mooreville, MS), observed Shannon's basketball team edge Mooreville by a score of 72-69.

The Red Raiders (5-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Tupelo (Tupelo, MS). The Golden Wave come into the non-league battle with a 4-3 record. In their last battle, Tupelo was nudged by Starkville (Starkville, MS), 69-54, in a non-league battle.

The Troopers now own a 6-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Itawamba Agricultural for a 4A Region 2 battle on Tuesday, December 16. Mooreville will meet a Indians squad coming off a 64-37 non-league win over Coffeeville (Coffeeville, MS). The Indians record now stands at 7-6.
