Independence 76ers (Columbus, OH) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Briggs Bruins (Columbus, OH), 66-62 in a league bout.

With the victory, Independence upgrades its record to 1-4 on the campaign. The 76ers host South (Columbus, OH) to play the Bulldogs in a Columbus City - South bout on Friday, December 16. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 5-0. South won 63-43 in their recent league bout against Marion-Franklin (Columbus, OH)

Next up, the Bruins play the West Cowboys (Columbus, OH) in a Columbus City - South bout, on Friday, December 16. Briggs will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record. The Cowboys come into the bout with a 1-4 record after their 42-40 league win over Eastmoor Academy (Columbus, OH).
