The Southmoreland Scotties basketball team scored 44 points and held the host Yough Cougars to 36 in the Scotties non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Scotties now sport a 4-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Mt. Pleasant for a non-league contest on Friday, December 16. Southmoreland will battle a Vikings team coming off a 42-28 non-league loss to Norwin (North Huntingdon, PA). The Vikings record now stands at 0-6.

The Cougars (4-2) will now prepare for their contest against Brownsville (Brownsville, PA). The Falcons enter the WPIAL 3A 4 contest with a 2-1 record. In their last contest, Brownsville was defeated by Uniontown (Uniontown, PA), 103-33, in a non-league contest.
