December 28, 2022: Charleroi, PA 15022 Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Southmoreland Scotties (Alverton, PA) and the host Charleroi Cougars (Charleroi, PA), saw Southmoreland's basketball squad overcome Charleroi by a tally of 69-49.
With the victory, Southmoreland improves its record to 7-1 on the campaign. The Scotties travel to Belle Vernon (Belle Vernon, PA) to confront the Leopards in a non-league challenge on Thursday, December 29. The Leopards come into the challenge with a record of 2-3. Belle Vernon won 98-73 in their recent non-league challenge against McKeesport (McKeesport, PA)
Next up, the Cougars confront the Mt. Pleasant Vikings (Mt. Pleasant, PA) in a WPIAL 3A 4 challenge, on Tuesday, January 3. Charleroi will attempt to improve on its 5-4 season record.
