In Friday's non-league contest, the host Kosciusko Whippets basketball team scored a close 62-61 triumph over the Leake Central Gators .

The Whippets (10-3) will now prepare for their contest against Forest (Forest, MS). The Bearcats go into the non-league contest with a 2-5 record. In their last contest, Forest nipped Raleigh (Raleigh, MS), 60-47, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Gators battle the Morton Panthers (Morton, MS) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, December 17. Leake Central will attempt to better on its 11-3 season record. The Panthers go into the contest with a 4-5 record after their 76-64 non-league win over Florence (Florence, MS).
