The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Matoaca Warriors (Chesterfield, VA) and the host Petersburg Crimson Wave (Petersburg, VA), observed Matoaca's basketball team edge Petersburg by a margin of 63-58.

The Warriors (3-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Hopewell (Hopewell, VA). The Blue Devils come into the Central challenge with a 5-0 record. In their last challenge, Hopewell edged Meadowbrook (Richmond, VA), 79-37, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Crimson Wave battle the Dinwiddie Generals (Dinwiddie, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, December 17. Petersburg will attempt to better on its 1-4 season record.
