Virginia High School Basketball - Rural Retreat bested by Fort Chiswell
December 13, 2024: Rural Retreat, VA 24368 Fort Chiswell Pioneers (Max Meadows, VA) supporters left the game happy Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad run past the host Rural Retreat Indians (Rural Retreat, VA), 42-34 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Fort Chiswell advances its record to 4-0 on the year. The Pioneers host Carroll County (Hillsville, VA) to face the Cavaliers in a non-league match on Wednesday, December 18. The Cavaliers enter the match with a record of 0-5. Carroll County lost 49-16 in their recent non-league match against Pulaski County (Dublin, VA)
The Indians now own a 1-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Eastern Montgomery for a non-league match on Saturday, December 14. Rural Retreat will face a Mustangs squad coming off a 52-41 non-league loss to Grayson County (Independence, VA). The Mustangs record now stands at 1-3.
