The Pike County Pirates basketball team scored 37 points and limited the visiting Academy for Classical Education Gryphons to 32 in the Pirates non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Pirates now have a 2-6 record. They play next when they host Marion County for a non-league game on Wednesday, December 17.

With the loss, Academy for Classical Education falls to 3-3 on the campaign. The Gryphons travel to Dublin (Dublin, GA) to confront the Fighting Irish in a A D1 Region 2 game on Tuesday, December 16. The Fighting Irish go into the game with a record of 1-4. Dublin lost 73-68 in their recent non-league outing against West Laurens (Dexter, GA)
