Arkansas High School Basketball - Melbourne fells Izard County
December 13, 2025: Brockwell, AR 72517 The Melbourne Bearkatz basketball team scored 52 points and limited the host Izard County Cougars to 42 in the Bearkatz non-league triumph on Saturday.
The Bearkatz now possess a 5-3 record. They play next when they host Yellville-Summit for a 3A Region 2 game on Tuesday, December 16. Melbourne will confront a Panthers team coming off a 56-36 non-league win over Omaha (Omaha, AR). The Panthers record now stands at 8-3.
With the loss, Izard County falls to 5-5 on the campaign. The Cougars host Cedar Ridge (Newark, AR) to clash with the Timberwolves in a 2A Region 2 outing on Tuesday, December 16. The Timberwolves come into the outing with a record of 0-8. Cedar Ridge lost 49-46 in their recent non-league outing against Mountain View (Mountain View, AR)
