The Premont Cowboys basketball team scored 50 points and held the visiting Santa Maria Cougars to 35 in the Cowboys league triumph on Tuesday.

The Cowboys now sport a 9-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Agua Dulce for a 2A Region IV District 32 contest on Friday, December 17. Premont will battle a Longhorns team coming off a 40-29 non-league loss to Refugio (Refugio, TX). The Longhorns record now stands at 0-3.

The Cougars (9-7) will now prepare for their contest against Freer (Freer, TX). The Buckaroos enter the 2A Region IV District 32 contest with a 4-3 record. In their last contest, Freer ran past Kaufer (Riviera, TX), 39-26, in a league contest.
