The North Buncombe Black Hawks basketball team scored 73 points and held the visiting Mitchell Mountaineers to 54 in the Black Hawks non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Black Hawks now sport a 5-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host T.C. Roberson for a 3A/4A Conference 53 game on Friday, December 16. North Buncombe will face a Rams team coming off a 65-59 league win over McDowell (Marion, NC). The Rams record now stands at 1-7.

With the defeat, Mitchell moves to 2-3 on the year. The Mountaineers travel to Owen (Black Mountain, NC) to face the Warhorses in a 1A/2A Conference 42 game on Friday, December 16. The Warhorses enter the game with a record of 4-4. Owen lost 79-69 in their recent league game against Draughn (Valdese, NC)
