The Melrose Buffaloes (Melrose, NM) basketball edged the visiting Bernalillo Spartans (Bernalillo, NM), 43-39 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The Buffaloes now possess a 4-2 record. They play next when they host Cloudcroft for a non-league bout on Thursday, December 19. Melrose will play a Bears team coming off a 44-37 non-league loss to Gateway Christian (Roswell, NM). The Bears record now stands at 4-5.

With the loss, Bernalillo falls to 4-4 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Belen (Belen, NM) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 17.
