Texas High School Basketball - Bowie nips Alvord
December 15, 2023: Alvord, TX 76225 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Bowie Jackrabbits (Bowie, TX) and the host Alvord Bulldogs (Alvord, TX), saw Bowie's basketball squad hold off Alvord by a count of 45-40.
With the victory, Bowie upgrades its record to 8-8 on the campaign. The Jackrabbits host Iowa Park (Iowa Park, TX) to play the Hawks in a 3A Region I District 7 challenge on Tuesday, December 19. The Hawks come into the challenge with a record of 8-5. Iowa Park won 60-45 in their recent non-league challenge against Graham (Graham, TX)
Next up, the Bulldogs play the Muenster Hornets (Muenster, TX) in a 2A Region II District 13 challenge, on Tuesday, December 19. Alvord will attempt to upgrade on its 4-5 season record. The Hornets come into the challenge with a 9-3 record after their 48-42 non-league win over Callisburg (Gainesville, TX).
