Marathon Olympians (Marathon, NY) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Groton Indians (Groton, NY), 61-59 in a league bout.

With the win, Marathon upgrades its record to 2-0 on the season. The Olympians travel to Spencer-Van Etten (Spencer, NY) to clash with the Panthers in a non-league bout on Friday, January 5. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 0-0.

Next up, the Indians clash with the Tioga Tigers (Tioga Center, NY) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 19. Groton will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 1-1 record after their 59-39 non-league loss to Newfield (Selden, NY).
