Father McGivney Catholic Griffins (Glen Carbon, IL) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Bunker Hill Minutemen (Bunker Hill, IL), 71-32 in a league bout.

With the victory, Father McGivney Catholic upgrades its record to 5-5 on the campaign. The Griffins host Gibault Catholic (Waterloo, IL) to play the Hawks in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 17. The Hawks come into the bout with a record of 5-2. Gibault Catholic won 63-52 in their recent non-league bout against Mater Dei (Breese, IL)

Next up, the Minutemen play the Calhoun Warriors (Hardin, IL) in a non-league bout, on Monday, December 19. Bunker Hill will attempt to upgrade on its 1-5 season record. The Warriors come into the bout with a 1-6 record after their 61-46 league loss to Greenfield/Northwestern (Greenfield, IL).
