Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Highland Hornets (Albuquerque, NM) and the visiting Valley Vikings (Albuquerque, NM), saw Highland's basketball squad hold off Valley by a count of 72-71.

With the victory, Highland upgrades its record to 5-2 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to Ferris (Ferris, TX) to play the Yellowjackets in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, December 28. The Yellowjackets come into the challenge with a record of 12-6.

Next up, the Vikings play the Eldorado Golden Eagles (Albuquerque, NM) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, December 17. Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 5-3 season record. The Golden Eagles come into the challenge with a 6-3 record after their 71-48 non-league win over Albuquerque (Albuquerque, NM).
