The Eastern Comets (Greentown, IN) basketball nipped the host Cowan Blackhawks (Muncie, IN), 70-63 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Comets (4-4) will now prepare for their test against Northfield (Wabash, IN). The Norsemen go into the non-league test with a 2-4 record.

The Blackhawks now own a 1-6 record. They play next when they host Daleville for a Mid-Eastern test on Friday, January 5. Cowan will encounter a Broncos squad coming off a 60-51 league win over Wes-Del (Gaston, IN). The Broncos record now stands at 6-2.
