Mitchell Tigers (Mitchell, NE) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Morrill Lions (Morrill, NE), 43-33 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Mitchell upgrades its record to 5-2 on the campaign. The Tigers host Bayard (Bayard, NE) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Monday, December 18. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 2-5. Bayard lost 53-17 in their recent non-league bout against Garden County (Oshkosh, NE)

Next up, the Lions play the Hay Springs Hawks (Hay Springs, NE) in a non-league bout, on Monday, December 18. Morrill will attempt to upgrade on its 4-3 season record. The Hawks come into the bout with a 5-0 record after their 76-41 non-league win over Creek Valley (Chappell, NE).
