Texas High School Basketball - Grand Prairie can't hold off West Mesquite
December 16, 2025: Grand Prairie, TX 75050 West Mesquite Wranglers (Mesquite, TX) supporters left the game satisfied Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the host Grand Prairie Gophers (Grand Prairie, TX), 64-57 in a non-league contest.
The Wranglers (12-2) will now prepare for their contest against Wilson (Dallas, TX). The Wildcats go into the 5A Region II District 14 contest with a 2-10 record. In their last contest, Wilson was tipped by Mansfield Timberview (Arlington, TX), 79-49, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Gophers battle the Bowie Volunteers (Arlington, TX) in a 6A Region I District 8 contest, on Friday, December 19. Grand Prairie will attempt to better on its 11-3 season record. The Volunteers go into the contest with a 2-13 record after their 52-37 non-league loss to Guyer (Denton, TX).
