The Shields Panthers (Beatrice, AL) basketball edged the visiting Southside Panthers (Selma, AL), 54-50 in Tuesday's non-league test.

Next, the Panthers encounter the T.R. Miller Tigers (Brewton, AL) in a non-league test, on Thursday, December 18. Shields will attempt to improve on its 7-2 season record.

The Panthers (3-4) will now prepare for their test against Calhoun (Letohatchee, AL). The Tigers come into the non-league test with a 4-4 record. In their last test, Calhoun was edged by Stanhope Elmore (Millbrook, AL), 81-80, in a non-league bout.
