Virginia High School Basketball - West Point fells Mathews

December 17, 2021: Mathews, VA 23109

West Point Pointers (West Point, VA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Mathews Blue Devils (Mathews, VA), 43-28 in a league bout.

With the win, West Point upgrades its record to 7-0 on the season. The Pointers travel to King William (King William, VA) to face the Cavaliers in a Tidewater game on Friday, January 7. The Cavaliers enter the game with a record of 4-2.

With the defeat, Mathews moves to 3-3 on the year. The Blue devils host Essex (Tappahannock, VA) to face the Trojans in a non-league game on Monday, December 20. The Trojans enter the game with a record of 1-3. Essex won 47-30 in their recent non-league game against Middlesex (Saluda, VA)
