Saranac Lake Red Storm (Saranac Lake, NY) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Canton Golden Bears (Canton, NY), 44-43 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Saranac Lake upgrades its record to 3-2 on the campaign. The Red Storm host Peru (Peru, NY) to play the Nighthawks in a Section 7 Champlain Valley I bout on Tuesday, December 20. The Nighthawks come into the bout with a record of 0-3. Peru lost 46-35 in their recent league bout against Saranac (Saranac, NY)

Next up, the Golden Bears play the Potsdam Sandstoners (Potsdam, NY) in a Section 10 Central bout, on Monday, December 19. Canton will attempt to upgrade on its 0-5 season record.
