Fans at Saturday's league challenge between the Maumelle Hornets (Maumelle, AR) and the host Vilonia Eagles (Vilonia, AR), saw Maumelle's basketball squad hold off Vilonia by a count of 53-51.

With the victory, Maumelle upgrades its record to 4-1 on the campaign. The Hornets host ESTEM (Little Rock, AR) to play the Mets in a 5A Central challenge on Wednesday, January 4. The Mets come into the challenge with a record of 6-8. ESTEM lost 65-51 in their recent league challenge against Jacksonville (Jacksonville, AR)
