Lincolnwood Lancers (Raymond, IL) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Southwestern Piasa Birds (Piasa, IL), 40-37 in a non-league battle.

The Lancers now possess a 4-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Carlinville for a non-league battle on Monday, December 19.

The Piasa Birds (1-9) will now prepare for their battle against Carrollton (Carrollton, IL). The Hawks come into the non-league battle with a 11-1 record. In their last battle, Carrollton edged Pleasant Hill/Western (Pleasant Hill, IL), 45-29, in a league battle.
