In Tuesday's non-league contest, the host Morton Panthers basketball team scored a close 67-63 triumph over the Leake Central Gators .

The Panthers (5-5) will now prepare for their contest against Forest (Forest, MS). The Bearcats go into the 4A Region 5 contest with a 2-7 record. In their last contest, Forest was tipped by Kosciusko (Kosciusko, MS), 80-47, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Gators confront the Murrah Mustangs (Jackson, MS) in a non-league contest, on Friday, December 20. Leake Central will attempt to better on its 11-4 season record. The Mustangs go into the contest with a 3-10 record after their 67-32 league loss to Starkville (Starkville, MS).
