In Tuesday's league contest, the host La Marque Cougars basketball team scored a close 55-52 win over the Wharton Tigers.

The Cougars (2-15) will now prepare for their contest against Needville (Needville, TX). The Bluejays come into the 4A Region IV District 29 contest with a 0-10 record. In their last contest, Needville was tipped by El Campo (El Campo, TX), 50-26, in a league contest.
