Mississippi High School Basketball - Walnut nips Ashland
December 18, 2023: Walnut, MS 38683 Walnut Wildcats (Walnut, MS) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Ashland Blue Devils (Ashland, MS), 67-66 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Walnut upgrades its record to 7-5 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Middleton (Middleton, TN) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 19. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 7-3. Middleton won 51-43 in their recent non-league bout against McNairy Central (Selmer, TN)
Next up, the Blue Devils play the Booneville Blue Devils (Booneville, MS) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 19. Ashland will attempt to upgrade on its 3-7 season record. The Blue Devils come into the bout with a 12-2 record after their 57-48 non-league loss to DeSoto Central (Southaven, MS).
