December 18, 2023: Jewett, TX 75846 Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Leon Cougars (Jewett, TX) and the visiting Groesbeck Goats (Groesbeck, TX), saw Leon's basketball squad wallop Groesbeck by a tally of 57-32.
With the victory, Leon improves its record to 13-2 on the campaign. The Cougars host Elkhart (Elkhart, TX) to confront the Elks in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, December 19. The Elks come into the challenge with a record of 9-8. Elkhart lost 59-26 in their recent league challenge against Franklin (Franklin, TX)
Next up, the Goats confront the Teague Lions (Teague, TX) in a 3A Region III District 20 challenge, on Tuesday, January 2. Groesbeck will attempt to improve on its 9-6 season record.
