In Tuesday's non-league match, the host Desert Edge Scorpions basketball team scored a good 76-62 triumph over the Washington Rams.

In their next game, the Scorpions meet the Westview Knights (Avondale, AZ) in a 5A Desert West match, on Tuesday, January 9. Desert Edge will attempt to move on its 6-5 season record. The Knights enter the match with a 8-5 record after their 70-59 non-league win over Glendale (Glendale, AZ).
