Mississippi High School Basketball - Kirk Academy nudges DeSoto
December 19, 2023: Grenada, MS 38901 Kirk Academy Raiders (Grenada, MS) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting DeSoto Thunderbirds (West Helena, AR), 41-40 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Kirk Academy upgrades its record to 1-3 on the season. The Raiders host Delta Streets Academy (Greenwood, MS) to clash with the Lions in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 20. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 5-9. Delta Streets Academy won 56-49 in their recent non-league bout against Varsity Opponent (, )
Next up, the Thunderbirds clash with the Calhoun Academy Cougars (Calhoun City, MS) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 4. DeSoto will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record.
