Johnson City Eagles (Johnson City, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Mason Punchers (Mason, TX), 45-44 in a league bout.

With the win, Johnson City upgrades its record to 17-1 on the season. The Eagles host Luling (Luling, TX) to clash with the Eagles in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 27. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 2-10. Luling won 30-20 in their recent non-league bout against TMI-Episcopal (San Antonio, TX)

Next up, the Punchers clash with the Center Point Pirates (Center Point, TX) in a 2A Region IV District 29 bout, on Saturday, January 6. Mason will attempt to upgrade on its 7-4 season record.
