Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Nixon Mustangs (Laredo, TX) and the visiting Martin Tigers (Laredo, TX), saw Nixon's basketball squad hold off Martin by a tally of 39-34.

With the victory, Nixon improves its record to 19-7 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Palmview (La Joya, TX) to confront the Lobos in a 5A Region IV District 30 challenge on Friday, December 29. The Lobos come into the challenge with a record of 19-5. Palmview won 40-27 in their recent league challenge against Rio Grande City (Rio Grande City, TX)

Next up, the Tigers confront the Rio Grande City Rattlers (Rio Grande City, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 30 challenge, on Friday, December 29. Martin will attempt to improve on its 9-15 season record. The Rattlers come into the challenge with a 10-7 record after their 40-27 league loss to Palmview (La Joya, TX).
