December 19, 2024: New Providence, NJ 07924 New Providence Pioneers (New Providence, NJ) supporters left the game happy Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad run past the visiting Elizabeth Minutemen (Elizabeth, NJ), 54-39 in a league match.
With the victory, New Providence advances its record to 1-0 on the year. The Pioneers host Scotch Plains-Fanwood (Scotch Plains, NJ) to meet the Raiders in a non-league match on Saturday, December 21. The Raiders enter the match with a record of 0-1. Scotch Plains-Fanwood lost 52-31 in their recent non-league match against Plainfield (Plainfield, NJ)
The Minutemen now own a 0-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Roselle Catholic for a Union County - Valley match on Saturday, December 21. Elizabeth will meet a Lions squad coming off a 51-46 league win over Cranford (Cranford, NJ). The Lions record now stands at 1-0.
