The Sahuarita Mustangs defeated the host Desert Christian Eagles basketball team by a tally of 58-47 in Friday's non-league bout.

The Mustangs now possess a 5-9 record. They play next when they travel to Show Low for a non-league bout on Saturday, December 20. Sahuarita will play a Cougars team coming off a 95-48 non-league loss to Florence (Florence, AZ). The Cougars record now stands at 2-4.

With the loss, Desert Christian moves to 3-4 on the season. The Eagles host Tombstone (Tombstone, AZ) to clash with the Yellow Jackets in a 2A South test on Tuesday, January 6. The Yellow Jackets go into the bout with a record of 1-14. Tombstone lost 70-37 in their recent league bout against Bisbee (Bisbee, AZ)
