Virginia High School Basketball - Menchville overwhelms Denbigh
December 2, 2022: Newport News, VA 23602 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Menchville Monarchs (Newport News, VA) and the visiting Denbigh Patriots (Newport News, VA), saw Menchville's basketball squad wallop Denbigh by a tally of 88-49.
With the victory, Menchville improves its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Monarchs host L.C. Bird (Chesterfield, VA) to play the Skyhawks in a non-league challenge on Saturday, December 3. The Skyhawks come into the challenge with a record of 2-0. L.C. Bird won 93-66 in their recent league challenge against Monacan (Richmond, VA)
Next up, the Patriots play the Warwick Raiders (Newport News, VA) in a Peninsula challenge, on Tuesday, December 6. Denbigh will attempt to improve on its 0-2 season record. The Raiders come into the challenge with a 1-1 record after their 60-58 league win over Phoebus (Hampton, VA).
