California High School Basketball - Downey can't hold off Loyola
December 2, 2022: Downey, CA 90241 The Loyola Cubs basketball team scored 55 points and restricted the host Downey Vikings to 49 in the Cubs non-league victory on Friday.
The Cubs now sport a 5-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Corona del Mar for a non-league contest on Saturday, December 3. Loyola will battle a Sea Kings team coming off a 66-57 non-league win over Artesia (Lakewood, CA). The Sea Kings record now stands at 4-0.
The Vikings (7-1) will now prepare for their contest against Artesia (Lakewood, CA). The Pioneers come into the non-league contest with a 5-2 record. In their last contest, Artesia was nudged by Corona del Mar (Newport Beach, CA), 66-57, in a non-league contest.
