California High School Basketball - Loyola can't hold off Valley Christian

January 7, 2023: Cerritos, CA 90703

The Valley Christian Defenders basketball team scored 55 points and held the visiting Loyola Cubs to 54 in the Defenders non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Defenders now sport a 12-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Whittier Christian for a Olympic contest on Tuesday, January 10. Valley Christian will battle a Heralds team coming off a 77-40 league loss to Heritage Christian (Northridge, CA). The Heralds record now stands at 5-10.

The Cubs (11-9) will now prepare for their contest against Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, CA). The Trailblazers enter the Mission contest with a 15-3 record. In their last contest, Sierra Canyon nudged Wheeler (Marietta, GA), 66-55, in a non-league contest.
