The Lawrence County Cougars (Monticello, MS) basketball knocked off the visiting Loyd Star Hornets (Brookhaven, MS), 62-54 in Friday's non-league test.

The Cougars (6-2) will now prepare for their test against Mendenhall (Mendenhall, MS). The Tigers go into the non-league test with a 0-4 record. In their last test, Mendenhall went down by Magee (Magee, MS), 60-22, in a non-league test.
