Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Steele Canyon Cougars (Spring Valley, CA) and the visiting Montgomery Aztecs (San Diego, CA), saw Steele Canyon's basketball squad knock off Montgomery by a tally of 60-50.

With the victory, Steele Canyon improves its record to 5-1 on the campaign. The Cougars host Coronado (Coronado, CA) to play the Islanders in a non-league challenge on Thursday, December 8. The Islanders come into the challenge with a record of 0-4.

Next up, the Aztecs play the Mira Mesa Marauders (San Diego, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, December 6. Montgomery will attempt to improve on its 1-2 season record. The Marauders come into the challenge with a 2-6 record after their 43-22 non-league loss to Rancho Bernardo (San Diego, CA).
