Virginia High School Basketball - Oxford ripped by Bishop Ireton
December 2, 2023: Alexandria, VA 22314 The Bishop Ireton Cardinals basketball team scored 77 points and held the visiting Oxford Chargers to 35 in the Cardinals league triumph on Saturday.
The Cardinals now sport a 2-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Potomac School for a non-league match on Tuesday, December 5. Bishop Ireton will meet a Panthers team coming off a 67-62 non-league loss to Collegiate (Richmond, VA). The Panthers record now stands at 2-1.
With the defeat, Oxford moves to 5-4 on the year. The Chargers travel to Lafayette (Oxford, MS) to meet the Commodores in a non-league match on Tuesday, December 5. The Commodores enter the match with a record of 5-6. Lafayette lost 57-50 in their recent non-league match against Ingomar (New Albany, MS)
