December 2, 2024: Manila, AR 72442 Brookland Bearcats (Brookland, AR) supporters left the game happy Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the host Manila Lions (Manila, AR), 49-43 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Brookland advances its record to 6-1 on the year. The Bearcats host Lonoke (Lonoke, AR) to face the Jackrabbits in a non-league match on Tuesday, December 3. The Jackrabbits enter the match with a record of 2-3. Lonoke won 78-71 in their recent non-league match against Warren (Warren, AR)
The Lions now own a 5-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Blytheville for a non-league match on Thursday, December 5. Manila will face a Chickasaws squad coming off a 45-32 non-league loss to Jonesboro (Jonesboro, AR). The Chickasaws record now stands at 2-1.
