The George C. Marshall Statesmen basketball team scored 47 points and limited the visiting Independence to 16 in the Statesmen non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Statesmen now possess a 1-0 record. They play next when they travel to Westfield for a non-league game on Thursday, December 4. George C. Marshall will clash with a Bulldogs squad coming off a 58-42 non-league loss to Robinson (Fairfax, VA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 0-1.
